Teeth Whitening

There are all sorts of reasons why a tooth or teeth can change colors. These reasons include food/drink, age, medications, tobacco use and trauma due to an injury.  Based on what is possible for your distinct tooth discoloration causes, we are happy to provide affordable teeth whitening services to help restore some of that natural glow to your teeth. Please note that whitening does not work on all types of teeth. Based on your specific needs, your dentist and dental hygienist can discuss the option that is best for you. From laser teeth whitening to whitening gels to whitening toothpastes, we will recommend the best teeth whitening solution for your pearly whites…or soon to be.

Bonding and Veneers

Decayed, fractured, chipped, crooked and discolored teeth can not only be unsightly but also affect chewing and other mouth functions…including your smile! At Rock Family Dental we won’t let an affected tooth or teeth stop you from showing off your happy. In tooth bonding, your dentist bonds a color-matched plastic material directly to your tooth in order to adjust discoloration or misshaping. Your natural tooth enamel is blended or fused together with the bonding materials allowing for a completed product that closely resembles your surrounding teeth. It is a more inexpensive, affordable type of cosmetic dentistry used for repairing teeth but the solution does not usually last as long as veneers. The procedure can normally be completed within an hour depending the specific needs of the impacted tooth to be repaired.

Like tooth bonding, dental veneers are also used to repair decayed, fractured, chipped, crooked and discolored teeth. The difference is that instead of fusing material with any of your natural tooth, a dental lab creates custom-crafted shells made of tooth-colored materials or porcelain to cover the entire front side of a tooth or teeth. Veneers are a more permanent solution to tooth repair because some of your tooth enamel must be removed to fit the veneer. Veneers cost more than tooth bonding but generally last longer as well.

Your dentist can discuss both options with you to determine the most affordable and effective treatment for your specific dental needs.
